FOR THOSE WHO NEED HEALING

The healing

(For the soul and the body)

​

Before we can have firm faith for the healing of our bodies, we must rid ourselves of any uncertainty regarding God's will in this matter. A living faith cannot go beyond our knowledge of God's revealed will. Before attempting to put our faith into action to obtain healing, we need to know what the Scriptures teach on this subject—namely, that it is just as much God's will to heal the body as it is to save the soul.

 

The Word Is a Seed

​

God does not want us to reap a harvest without first planting the seed—that is, without knowing His will and acting according to it. Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

​

Freedom from sickness comes when one has known the Truth. God never does anything apart from His Word. "He sent His word and healed them" (Psalm 107:20). These are words spoken by the Holy Spirit. All of God's works are performed in faithfulness to His promises.

​

If you are sick and know personally and with assurance that it is God's will to heal you, it is as if a seed were being planted in your mind and heart.

​

It is not planted until it is known and received in faith. No sinner can become a Christian before knowing that it is God's will to save him. It is the Word of God—planted, watered, and held fast in faith—that heals the soul and body. This seed must remain planted, and one must continue to water it, until it produces the expected harvest.

​

When you pray for healing using words that kill faith—"If it be Your will, Lord..."—you do not plant the seed; instead, you destroy it.

​It is His will to give you healing, as we read in 1 John 1:2: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." Let us no longer question this point; He has said it, it is His will, and that settles it.

​

The Gospel does not leave us in uncertainty, praying with the caveat "if it be Your will." The Gospel reveals God's will to us. These words of the Holy Spirit—"He took up our infirmities" (Matthew 8:17)—are part of the Gospel, just as surely as these words: "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. " (1 Peter 2:24).

 

The Promises of the Gospel

Whether these promises are for the spirit or for the body, they cannot be received by prayer alone. Seed is powerless until it is planted.

​

Many, instead of saying, "Pray for me," should first say, "Teach me the Word of God, so that I may cooperate with Jesus for my healing."

​

We must know what benefits Calvary brings us before we can seize them by faith.

​

David rightly says:

"Who forgives ALL your iniquities, who heals ALL your diseases."

(Notice the word ALL; it means complete, entire, whole. No one other than Him, Jesus, can forgive or heal.)

​

When we have been sufficiently enlightened, our attitude toward sickness should be the same as our attitude toward sin. Our determination to see our body healed should be as firm as our determination to see our soul healed.

​

The fact that Christ bore our sins and our sicknesses on Himself is certainly a valid reason to trust Him now for deliverance from these things. When we resolutely commit ourselves to God in prayer to be forgiven of our sins, we must believe, on the authority of His Word, that our prayer has been heard. We must do the same when we pray for healing.

​

After being sufficiently enlightened by God's promises, and by simply believing that our prayer has been heard—even before we can see the answer (as Jesus commanded us in Mark 11:24)—and then putting Hebrews 10:35-36 into practice, we can always see any promise of God fulfilled.

​

Between the moment we resolutely commit the healing of our body to God and the full manifestation of our healing, we can, and must, learn one of the most valuable lessons of our Christian life. This lesson consists of practicing what is taught in Hebrews 10:35-36:

" Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

The Promises of the Gospel Strengthen Our Faith

(Yes, you have need of endurance so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.) Only the promises of God can strengthen our faith.

The Word of God cannot be health to our soul or body if it is not first heard, received, and carefully considered. Notice that it is said here that the Word of God is life only to those who "find" it.

​

If you want to receive life and healing from God, take the time to find the passages of Scripture that promise such results.

​

When the Word of God becomes health to your whole body, your cancer disappears, your tumor goes away, your goiter melts. God says that when we do what He tells us in Scripture, His Words become "health to all our body."

​

Which body is this? The body of those who have "found" and carefully considered God's Words regarding this subject. This is exactly how the Word of God becomes health to our soul. One cannot look in two different directions at the same time.

​

God tells us exactly how to "attend" to His words. He says: "Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart." Instead of keeping our eyes fixed on our symptoms and being preoccupied with them, let our gaze not depart from God's Words.

​

That is, we must continually look at these Words and, like Abraham, be strengthened in faith by considering only the promises of God and nothing else.

​

Just as a seed can only do its work if it remains in the soil, so the "incorruptible seed" of God can only work effectively in us if it is kept "in the midst of our heart."

​

This does not mean occasionally, but continually. Many have failed because they failed to do this.

​​

"The Evidence of Things Not Seen"

​

After planting your seed, you believe it is growing, even before you can see it grow. Faith is the "evidence of things not seen."

​

In Christ, you possess a perfect demonstration for your faith. Any man or woman can be completely rid of doubt by looking solely and firmly at the only proof God has given us for our faith.

​

Faith is born and grows when we consider only what God says. It will then be easier for us to believe than to doubt. For the evidence upon which our faith rests is far stronger than that which feeds our doubts. Do not doubt your faith, but doubt your doubts, for you cannot trust them!

​

Oh, what a blessing we receive when we look to Christ in faith! We find Life, light, freedom, love, joy, counsel, wisdom, understanding, perfect health—all things, in reality—when we fix our eyes on the Crucified One. No one ever looks in vain to the Great Physician.

​

Here is the method provided by the Word of God to be healed (Proverbs 4:20):

​

My son, give attention to My Words:

​

1. We must have an attentive ear: "Incline your ear to My Sayings."

2. We must have firmly fixed eyes: "Do not let Them depart from your eyes."

3. We must keep Them deep within our heart: "Keep Them in the midst of your heart."

 

For They are life to those who find Them,

​

And health to all their body.

​

When your eyes are fixed on your symptoms, and your thoughts are more occupied with those symptoms than with the Word of God, you have planted bad seed in your soil that will not produce the desired harvest. You have planted seeds of doubt in your field.

​

We have a Great Physician whose Skill is infinite and who "heals all our diseases."

​

After planting your seed, you believe it is growing, even before you can see it grow.

​

Faith is the "evidence of things not seen."

Thus, God wants to work, but anything that blocks His power will make healing impossible. That is why the Apostle James tells us in chapter 5, verse 16: "Confess your trespasses to one another... that you may be healed." This means that if you do not confess them, you cannot be healed.

​

Brother Branham tells us in the Message titled

"Humble Thyself" (63-0714e):

"We must first confess our faults to one another even before we come seeking healing. Yes. Confess our faults to one another, and pray for one another... That reconciles the Beatitudes with Mark 16. Put that together, and you have what it takes, then healings happen."

​

When sickness has progressed beyond the limits of nature's operation, then neither nature, nor doctors, nor even prayer can heal the sick person unless they confess their sins.

​

"If You Can Believe"

Mark 16:17-18 – "And these signs will follow those who believe... they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

​

Anyone who lays hands on the sick knows that healing always comes—even if it is not visibly instantaneous. Some will say, "Not everyone is healed." But that does not mean healing does not come. It simply means not everyone receives it.

​

When we lay hands on a person with an incurable disease, we tell them: "You are now healed." That was not a prophetic word. Nor was it an extraordinary expression of faith. It was simply what the Bible says.

​

Every time you lay hands on the sick, the healing process begins. Every single time. Amen! "...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover..."

​

In this verse, it is clear that God promises to do His part. He sends His healing. It is now necessary for the sick upon whom hands are laid to receive the healing. Sometimes, it takes time. But whether it takes a month, a year, or ten years does not matter. The important thing is to prepare to receive it. And the healing will manifest.

​

If you have already had the opportunity to lay hands on someone who has not yet received their healing, do not interrupt the flow of God's power. How? Do not stop your faith.

​

How do you turn on the light in your living room? By pushing the switch and keeping it turned on. That gives you light. It is the same with healing or anything else you need from the Lord. Keep the switch of your faith turned on until the healing comes. Amen!

I believe in the Power of this Word, provided that:

• We incline our ear to It,

• It does not depart from our eyes, and

• We keep It in the midst of our heart.

 

Praise God...

The Word is a Seed

I repeat again, when you pray for healing using those faith-killing words: "If it be Your will, Lord...", you are not planting the seed; you are destroying it.

​

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:5

​

"Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases."

Psalm 103:3

​

Brother Branham tells us in the Message "Why Cry? Speak!" preached on 63-0714m: "May we realize that You have called us to this work. Now is the hour. I speak this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let every sickness leave this place."

​

And in "Possessing the Enemies' Gates" preached on 59-1108: "In the Church of the living God this morning, there is power to heal all manner of sickness.

It isn't if it's His will... It is His Will."

​

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 1:2

​

In the Message 63-0825e - "Perfect Faith":

"And he that cometh to God must believe that He is; and faith cometh by hearing the Word of God. You must believe first that this is God's Word, and you must come to God by the Word. See?

​

Just take the Word, what It says, and say, 'That is right!' Everything else contrary to It is not right."

​

...See how those disciples walked in the power of the Spirit, moved by the Holy Spirit like a prisoner—as I preached the other night, a prisoner of the Word and the will of God.

He couldn't even move until God moved him to do it. Wouldn't you like to see a Church like that rise up?

​

It will; we are going back to that. It has to happen. That's right. It's on the way now, I believe.

​

Now notice! In 1 John 3:21. Listen!

"...if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God."

But as long as you do things that are wrong, you cannot really have confidence toward God..."

​

But if your heart does not condemn you, and if you know that you are a believer and there is nothing between you and God, you can ask whatever you want, knowing it will be given to you, because it is the Word given to you, just as It was to those disciples.

​

In the Message 63-0825e - "Perfect Faith":

" 27. Now faith : He that cometh to God must believe that He is. And it is impossible to please God without faith; you cannot please Him.

And if you say you believe in God... You've never seen Him; so you must believe Him by faith.

And if you could see Him, it would no longer be faith. See? Anything that the senses declare is no longer faith; it is a scientific fact, see, it is no longer faith.

But you must accept Him by faith. "And he that cometh to God must believe that He is; and faith cometh by hearing the Word of God." See?

You must believe first that this is God's Word, and you must come to God by the Word. See?

Just take the Word, what It says, and say, 'That is right!' Everything else contrary to It is not right."

​

But you must accept Him by faith.

 

If you believe it, receive your healing now. Amen!
